The 2026/27 Budget Speech announced several measures concerning women in business. An announcement is useful to know about, but it is not the same as published eligibility rules or an application form. Before planning around a measure, check whether the responsible agency has issued current instructions.
What the Budget Speech says
Paragraphs 236 to 239 of the official 2026/27 Budget Speech mention Rs 5 million for a dedicated women’s incubator under the SME scheme, a proposed change so women applying for loans would no longer need spousal consent, and a She-Invents programme for women in research and innovation.
What to confirm before applying
- Has an administering organisation been named and published details?
- Is there a launch date, eligibility rule and application channel?
- For a funding measure, what costs, amounts and conditions apply?
- For a law change, has the amendment been enacted and brought into force?
- Where will official updates and application notices appear?
We checked the Budget Speech and public agency pages while preparing this guide. We did not find enough published operating detail to describe these three measures as open application programmes. Check SME Mauritius, NWEC and the responsible ministry for later notices.
For programmes with published terms, see our funding overview. Fam Antreprenan can help you organise the business information an application may later require; we cannot confirm a programme launch or award funding.
